Today, my niece, Ananya’s, star based birthday. We celebrate that as ‘Ayush Homam’, a prayer for long life for the kid. We booked an appointment in Mahalakshmi Temple, East Ham in London. Travel from Reading to London is always a great fun, watching all the natural beauty crossing us. The national railways and the tube rail helped us in reaching East Ham. There, we had the confusion with the rail ticket and the ticket receipt. Huh!!! Anyways we with all the support of the station staff, we came out of the station. On the way to hotel, I met C.S.Sivakumar, my college friend, who is here in UK for last 4 months. Reaching hotel, few idlys, dosas and pongal were part of the unlimited buffet breakfast in Chennai Dosa.
After buying few pooja items, we reached the temple. The kurukkal (Iyer, who perform rituals in temple), chanted the Sanskrit verses and hymns for the Ayush Homam. Why is this Ayush Homam? This is to pray for the long life of the kid. This can be done every year on the star birth day of the kid. After completing all the rites, again we marched towards the Chennai Dosa for Lunch. Every time we use to buy new movie DVDs from East Ham. This time, it was Santosh Subramaniam, Singakutty and Vellithirai.
Returning home, I had a good nap. Now, I am watching ‘Santosh Subramaniam’ for the second time. Hope I will end this day by completing, ‘The Devil and Miss Pyrm’.
